Don't Give up the Ship

The tall ships sailed into Toronto's Harbor front, and we had a family trip to go and see them on July 4th. I saw the tall ships when they came to Goderich many years ago, but I was really young and they didn't get too close to shore. These boats are so beautiful, and not to mention gigantic!!

This was another perfect day, the sun was hot, not a cloud in sight, and to top it all off. . . we finished the day off with some delicious street meat.

Even the swans were out to watch the boats

Organized chaos at its finest

This boat was my favourite, it was HUGE, and looked just like a pirate ship! And to keep up with the spirit of The 4th of July, they had one gigantic American flag.

The Queen! The Queen! The Queen!

Queen Elizabeth II flew into Waterloo Airport yesterday. It was so amazing to be so close to such an amazing person! Thanks to my sister Sarah for getting us some very VIP access at the airport (who doesn't love perks of the job!) We were behind a fence right in front of where the plane landed.
After landing at the airport, she went over to RIM, where she had a quick tour of the facilities and received her very own blackberry.

Check out the pictures, it will be a day that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

The motorcade all ready to go.

In case you couldn't tell, she's waving right at us!!

After RIM, she went to a 3D studio, where Mark Bone, a friend from Sheridan College got to show her a live 3D film. How cool is that!
Here is a video about it: Click here to see it.

The Snowbirds

This year, Father's day brought an air show to Waterloo Regional Airport. With some crazy, daredevil pilots, the snowbirds and more than perfect weather, it was one perfect day.

Amazing is all I can about these guys, seriously. Take a look for yourself.

Now, it may have taken 2 hours to get down a road that should have taken 7 minutes, but it was well worth the wait.

seriously though, this was so cool.

My 2 favourites,

Now, if you know me, then you will know that there was no way that I could pass up the opportunity to get my picture taken with all of the pilots . . :)
Thanks for taking them Dad!
